Looksmith renders any makeup look onto your own face.
Looksmith is an iOS app for trying on makeup. You take a selfie, choose a look — a full face of it, not a single product — and Looksmith renders that look onto your own face so you can see it before you buy anything. Every look is shoppable: the products used to build it are listed beside the result.
It exists because most people find one look that works and stop exploring. Exploring is expensive when the only way to find out is to buy the products and risk failing in public. Looksmith makes trying a look cost nothing.
How it works
You sign in, upload a selfie and a few additional angles, and pick a look. Looksmith sends your photographs to the artificial-intelligence providers that perform the rendering on our behalf, and returns the result to you. Those providers act as our processors under written contract and are not permitted to use your images for their own purposes or to train their models.
What we ask for, and why
Signing in with Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture. We use them to create your account, to keep your looks attached to it across devices, and to contact you about the service. We do not read your Google data beyond that, and we do not sell personal information.
Face features are limited to users who are at least 18. Before any biometric processing happens you are asked for a separate written consent, which names every processor that may receive your images, and which you can withdraw. Raw selfies are deleted on a short schedule; the Privacy Policy sets out the periods in full.
